The Viesīte Local History Museum "Sēlija" and the Little Train, as well as P. Stradiņš Memorial Museum. The Viesīte Museum "Sēlija" offers a permanent exposition on history, traditions, heritage, and local notables well known in Latvia.
The Small Train display presents the equipment and structures which have survived from a former narrow gauge railway line: an engine with carriages, rail sections, a depot, auxiliary buildings, and other sights to see.
The narrow gauge railway was built by Germans in 1915-1916, and after World War I, was fitted to carry passengers. The locomotive was built in 1918 by the Schwarzkopf Company in Berlin. The little train made its last trip on 31 August 1972.
The locomotive and carriages can be viewed in a former depot repair facility building.
The offers: the museum exhibition hall – reading room; the building of the Small Train exposition; the Selonian woodworking tradition and handcraft workshops. Permanent expositions – "Viesīte in the middle of Selonia", "Selonian ornaments", "Through time on the Little Train".
