Ikšķile is preparing for the 6th International Operetta Festival, which will take place from 28 July to 3 August at the historic Ikšķile open air stage and will mark the tenth anniversary of the Operetta Theatre. This year the festival will focus on a wide range of soloists from the Operetta Theatre Company in a varied programme of interest to different audiences. For the first time, The night performance of the musical of Raimonds Pauls' much-loved musical "MEŽROZĪTE will be performed at the open-air stage. The family musical "KARLSSON on the ROOF", as well as the most beautiful moments of the operettas from the Operetta Theatre evergreens at the culmination of the festival - at the Jubilee Gala.
On The Evening of the Waltzes, the orchestra of the Operetta Theatre under the baton of conductor Atvars Lakstīgala will perform the most elegant and sparkling waltzes by Johann Strauss, creating an unforgettable experience of Viennese waltz tour under the starry sky. Will be available Festival Café Musical.
