VIII Fencing tournament "Ius Gladii – The right of the sword"
The eighth year Bauska Castle will be hosting a fencing tournament “Ius gladii” - the right of the sword". The knights - fencers- will be fighting for the honor of their each respective lady. The tournament is being hosted in collaboration with the Latvian Fencing Federation. The fights will be accompanied by medieval music by the ancient music ensemble "Artemisia absinthium", and in between the fights there will be performances by the professional circus duo, the acrobatic studio "Melanž". The winners will be honoured with a cannon salute.

Dance performance "La Fortuna - Lady with an Ermine"
The outstanding historical dance ballet "Cracovia Danza" from Poland with a magnificent dance performance "Fortuna - Lady with an Ermine".The performance takes an audience to the Sforza court in Milan during glorious times of Italian Cinquecento, showing richness and sophistication of its culture. The play is based on the renaissance tradition of ballet performances and contains reconstructed pieces of Il Paradiso – a show featuring costumes and scenery designed by Leonardo. The Bauska Castle courtyard and the restored Renaissance-style facades will serve as the scenery for the performance.
Time of event: 20th of August at 19:00. Price: 25 EUR . With the purchase of a ticket, the Bauska Castle Museum is free of charge before the performance. Children under 7 years of age are free of charge.
