From December 8 to December 31, Dzintari Concert Hall will host its Christmas Festival, featuring a rich lineup of concerts that showcase both international and Latvian musicians.
The festival opens with Ganavya, a world music concert featuring the artist Ganavya (USA) and the Latvian Radio Choir conducted by Sigvards Klava (08.12). A Christmas concert by the Latvian Puppet Theatre, “Let’s Go Get a Christmas Tree!” will be perfect for families with children (15.12). Kaspars Zemitis and his family will perform beloved Christmas songs and premieres from their upcoming family album (22.12).
During Christmas week, the a cappella group Latvian Voices will perform Advent hymns and winter solstice songs (26.12), while the Riga Cathedral Boys Choir, accompanied by the Jurmala Festival Orchestra, will present John Rutter’s “Magnificat” and popular Christmas melodies (27.12). The festival will conclude with a New Year’s Eve concert featuring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 and Johann Strauss’ Viennese Waltzes (31.12).
