Miķeļi is a time when days and nights are equally long; it’s a day when harvesting should be done and the harvest – stored in the granary. This day is celebrated with a celebration, when Jumis – a symbol of harvest and fertility – is being honoured. During the market guests will have an opportunity to buy autumn goods and products made by local craftsmen, learn more about customs and traditions, enjoy music concert, take part in creative workshops and to feast with delicacies made by the masters of flavour from Valmiermuiža. We will explore sustainable living and practices through talks and discussions with GreenFest, a festival of green thinking.
