An ambitious summer concert season will return to Sigulda on 22 June with a performance by British alternative rock stars “Placebo”. “Placebo” will be performing at the impressive Sigulda Castle Ruins as part of the tour for their eighth album, and it’s worth repeating that their Riga show 6 years ago was a well-attended success.

“Placebo” was founded back in 1994 when singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Brian Molko met guitarist Stefan Olsdal, who are remaining the core of the band today. With 13 million records sold over 25 years, “Placebo” is undoubtedly one of the leading alternative rock artists. The band’s debut album paved the way for a profound change in British music, acting as a stark contrast to the dominant Britpop of the time and inspiring a host of other bands to follow their lead.
