Lāčupīte Arboretum is a specially protected nature territory located between Apšuciems and Klapkalnciems. Walking along the Lāčupīte trail, especially in summer, it is possible to see many local and foreign flowering plants in all their glory.
About 60 species of conifers and 350 species of trees are registered here. It looks best here in May and June - during the flowering of rhododendrons.
Plantations were started in 1959 and their total area is 7.2 ha. Its purpose was to plant unusual trees and shrubs to observe and study the interactions of the species with native habitats.
