Rezekne Green Synagogue is the oldest wooden building in the city (1845) and the only one of 11 synagogues that has survived up to the present time. In 2016, the Green Synagogue was carefully reconstructed and now offers everyone to explore its unique setting. The premises of the synagogue also host cultural and educational events – the Museum Night, exhibitions, seminars, demonstrations of documentary films, lectures, meetings, concerts.
Visitors and tourists are invited to see:
- the digital photography exhibition about the history of the Jewish community of Rezekne;
- the collection of sacred Jewish objects – ecba, tallit, tfillin, Torah scrolls, prayer books of the 19th century;
- the documentary about Rezekne’s Jews;
- a small library of spiritual literature on Jewish history and traditions.
