Ostas street Promenade
A promenade with a view of the Venta river, the sea gate, the old workshops of the Port, an impressive collection of buoys, and the exhibited pilotage ship “Rota”, which operated in the port of Ventspils for many years.
Located at the entrance to the small fishing port, the “Lighthouse of Love” is an environmental object designed specifically for newlyweds.
Livonian Order Castle
The oldest medieval fortress in Latvia and the oldest building in Ventspils, where you can view the digital exposition ‘’Living History’’, art and history exhibitions, and educational programs.
Seaside Open-Air Museum and Mazbānītis
The museum gives an insight into the life of the North Kurzeme coast; there you can see a collection of sea boats, farmsteads, and Užava windmills. The museum also offers the opportunity to travel with the historical narrow-gauge railway steam locomotive “Mazbānītis”.
Cow exhibits
Two cow parades have been held in Ventspils; now in Ventspils there are 28 sculptures of cows of different sizes and colors, created by Latvian and foreign artists.
Ventspils Creative Centre with planetarium and observatory
The Creative House offers planetarium star shows and 360-degree films on nature, the Universe, and planets, while the observatory enables you to see the Sun, planets, binary stars, and nebulae through a high-quality telescope.
Excursion Boat “Hercogs Jēkabs”
"Hercogs Jēkabs" leaves its berth at the intersection of Tirgus and Ostas streets between May and October. During the 45-minute- or 1-hour-and-5-minute-long rides, you can see the mouth of the Venta river, the Ostas street promenade, the Livonian Order Castle, the only drawbridge in Latvia, and the industrial territory of the Freeport of Ventspils.
Excursion train “Ventspils Train”
The train route covers the most beautiful places of Ventspils: its most remarkable tourist attractions, historical buildings, magnificent city parks, and squares. An audio guide is available on the train; the guide features interesting stories about ancient Ventspils and information about the objects seen during the train route.
Water Amusement Park
Eternal summer, joy, and well-being reign over the Water Amusement Park, which is rich in various recreational possibilities for adults as well as children. Lovers of active recreation may head over to the park’s two slides, the Mountain River, and the playground equipment at the children’s pool, whereas the SPA complex may be used for relaxing in various saunas or the salt room and enjoying different water procedures with soothing music playing in the background.
