The Latgale Culture and History Museum currently can be proud of its vast collection of Latgale pottery, fine art and ethnographic objects.
Tourists and visitors are welcome to view permanent exhibitions:
• “Wonders of clay and fire” – the world’s largest collection of Latgale ceramics;
• “Rezekne’s history throughout different eras” – the history of the city throughout 7 centuries;
• “Latgalian painting” – artistic expressions in Latgale in 30s of the 20th century to our days.
For schoolchildren as well as for families with children, the museum offers a wide range of educational programs from archeology to art: “Lifestyle of Ancient Latgalians”, “Secrets of the Earth’s Depths”, “Adventures of a Clay Lump”, “Fight for Latvia’s Freedom”, “Ancient games and toys”, “First time at the exhibition”, etc.
The opportunity to become virtual potters, experiencing clay transformation starting from clay preparation process to the artwork of fired clay in the computer game “Clay transformations”.
First Saturday of each month at the museum is a Family day, which implies free entrance for visitors.
